NOA Advises NECO On Monitoring Strategies

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) on Tuesday advised the National Examination Council (NECO) to adopt new strategies to monitor the conduct of its examinations.

Alhaji Mamunu Adamu, the Chief Orientation and Mobilisation Officer of NOA in charge of Yauri, Ngaski and Shanga Local Government Areas in Kebbi, gave the advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Yauri.

He said the new measures would enhance the integrity of the body.

Adamu noted that some examination centres in the state were left ``exposed to suspicious conducts'' during the ongoing June/July examinations conducted by the council.

``NOA observed that the security apparatus at the centres were grossly inadequate, or how can a few number of security personnel be able to control over 197 candidates?.''

He said NECO should deploy more security personnel to the centres and take drastic measures against intruders.

According to him, the agency and NECO are working together to ensure that the right standards are maintained during examinations. (NAN)
