Sometimes one feel indisposed when you listen to the comment of people concerning fighting corruption in Nigeria. One question that is always raised against anyone who frown at corruption is "Is he/she a saint? " . And this has brought me to a conclusion that largely, we have accepted corruption to be our second nature, and we have also condemned ourselves that this thorn of corruption has eaten deep into our flesh that nothing could be able to remove it.
All along, Nigeria has had Eight Military leaders and Seven civilian leaders since independence in 1960. Each of these leaders might have ruled either patriotically or selfishly, but there is always a mark left behind through which they will be remembered forever. But Nigerians are always unwilling to accept reprimand against corrupt leaders especially people of the same tribe or geopolitical zone, yet we want a country that is void of corruption and that attains greater development where peace and unity reign.
President Mohammod Buhari has came out with a lion heart to fight corruption even with his last blood, all what we need is to support him. He is not after anyone but only those that have skeleton in their cupboard. Yes, the president is not God that will be all knowing but where his disciplinary measure could reach we should be able to support him.
Meanwhile, most Nigerians are out there flexing muscle that why PMB should investigate someone from their region/tribe and this same people are craving for transparency and development in the country. The fact that Mr A. could not reject a bad thing does not make it a norm for every other person, and Mr B. that has the audacity should not be giving a yardstick of his action. Mr B. can start his probe from anywhere. The truth about the matter is that you are not permanent in any position you hold today, and you should therefore think of the consequences of your action or inaction when in that post.
My judgement is that we should allow PMB to do his work and stop allowing sentiment to draw us back. So far you do not have any skeleton in your cupboard, you should not be afraid of anything and stop fighting for those who have questions to answers.
I Rise !!!
