The mad quest for foreign medical attention

A common phenomenon which ought to be stopped in Nigeria is the issue of seeking medical attention from the foreign countries by our wealthy/influential people. It is simply ignoble action and downgrading our health system as well as Nigeria as a country.
I do not belief there is any special medication these people could be demanding that is not available in Nigeria amidst many standard Teaching hospitals and Private hospitals with ultra modern health equipment spreading across the nation.

The irony of this is that at those foreign hospitals, it is Nigerian Doctors hired by these hospitals that attend to our men. Secondly, many of these people still give up the ghost at these foreign hospitals! Who knows, they might have survived it if stays at home!

The implication of this action economically is that we are building the economy of the foreign country at the detriment of our own. We are also demoralizing both our health system and our country as a whole.

It is high time our legislatures enact a law which will halt this dishonorable act by compelling Nigerians to seek medication from Nigeria hospitals.
